MILLEDGEVILLE —
Three Georgia College & State
University students and
members of Lambda-Xi
Chapter of Kappa Sigma were
selected for Excellence in
Leadership and Scholarship
for the academic school year.
William Thompson, Richard
Whirley and Brad Kuglin
received the honors.
“The Kappa Sigma
Endowment fund awarded
$266,000 to its undergraduate
leaders and scholars at the
Kappa Sigma chapters across
North America this year,” a
press release from GC&SU
stated. “The Lambda-Xi
chapter at GC&SU,
represented by 18 brothers,
has received $15,250 in
awards the last seven
academic years.”
Craig Henry, Kappa Sigma
adviser, said every year the
local chapter has a few
members who win the
scholarships.
“The undergraduate brothers
go online and apply,” Henry
said of the process. “They get
points by their leadership
skills, if they are good
scholars, involvement on
campus and their service
hours. ... They accrue points
and those who get the most
points are given the
scholarships.”
